You will soon see that we can add missing features and come up with some useful features that we never thought of before.ġ. ![]() Take a few minutes to look over what is available in the API and their article on how to create a plugin. We can pool skills to make plugins to add Redactor features. This is where the community can come into play. So improvements to Redactor will come eventually.įor those who would like to see improvements come sooner. change font color and font background color using color picker instead of preset color palette choicesĪs an open source project with a small core team, there are only so many things that can be worked on at a time. set width, height, and min/max width/height for tables and table elementsĢ. set background colors for tables, rows, and cells add rowspan and colspan attributes (merge) add a border for tables, rows, and cells The ability to create a site that serves users across a wide range of skill levels - that makes creating and changing content really easy.Ĭurrently Redactor is missing features and is bare bones. It is what makes it stand out over Wordpress and Drupal. They get frustrated. One of concrete5's key selling points is the user editing experience. Now they can't, and that's the most complain they are making to me. In IPB 3.4, quotes were already a mess in the editor, but what my users tell's me is that they could change the editor to bbcode mode, and then control the content. Same thing with Youtube Video and almost everything else that is embed in the editor. If instead of seing the real quote we could see the bbcode it would be much easier to control it. I agree that seing the quotes, the youtube videos etc etc inside the editor its pretty, but we don't need something pretty, we need something that works.įor example, removing quotes inside quotes don't work, sometimes its even frustrating when we try to delete something from a quote and something unexpected happens. I understand that at this point its not an easy solution to just get rid of an editor and implement a new one.īut without replacing the editor, i suggest at least to remove the current implementation of 100% wysiwyg. We do have an upgrade planned to CKEditor and if at that point, concerns are not resolved to satisfaction, we can certainly look into something else.ĭo keep in mind, however, other solutions aren't perfect either. I don't believe we are at a point at this stage where we can just rip out and replace the editor.
